Our Story

In 1987 a Fort Wayne-based audience participation mystery company was conceived. Larry Bower and Alan North were performing in the Arena Dinner theatre production of Agatha Christie's "Murder on the Nile." During the run of the show, the conversation of Bower and North turned to the ageless popularity of mysteries, and the trend toward audience participation mysteries.

When Larry suggested the concept might deserve to be tried in the Fort Wayne area, Alan smiled and nodded. Three weeks later, Alan presented Larry with the first draft of "The Hightower Mystery," and Bower North Productions was born.

What followed is no mystery. The creative team of Bower North has successfully written and produced dozens of original mysteries for the general public and private organizations, with shows throughout the Indiana - Illinois - Michigan - Ohio region. Bower North Productions has expanded their repertoire to include non-mystery plays and musical revues, and will also take their productions outside the Midwest, including Florida, Kentucky, and Massachusetts.
